RentBillow Promo Video-Rent Almost Anything TO and FROM other people.

http://www.rentbillow.com/ RentBillow is an online person-to-person rental marketplace. We seek to create value for individuals by providing a platform through which they can rent their unused assets to other individuals. We also seek to create value for individuals that temporarily need assets and do not want to spend the money to purchase them outright.

The idea was originally conceived as a way for stay at home wives/mothers to generate extra income for their households without having to leave their homes. While we are still passionate about helping stay at home wives and mothers, we also realized the incredible hole that RentBillow fills for our rapidly changing marketplace and limited discretionary incomes.

RentBillow-Rentophobia?

People often tell me how they love the idea of RentBillow, but they are very cautious about entrusting their belongings to strangers. “What if they break it or steal it?”

I believe it is only natural to feel this way. Heck, I am the business owner and worry about putting my stuff for rent too. But just like learning to swim you don’t always just jump into the deepest side of the pool and wish for the best. You can start by renting small stuff that might be big stuff for others.

Even if renting out the family boat is just too risky, that does not mean that your leaf blower or 6’ ladder are as well. Every person needs to decide for themselves what items are just too precious to entrust to somebody else. As I look around my house I see many items that are just going to waste. I use them once or twice a year. Somebody else could really benefit by using these items temporarily.

One of my first customers listed a set of beautiful wedding cake cutters, a gorgeous wedding dress and many catering dishes. Some people would never dream of renting out their wedding items. However, for $150 somebody could rent all of these wedding items and save quite a bit.

RentBillow is just a great way to cash in on belongings that even though you might not frequently use, you love enough to not completely let go. It also is a place that allows people the ability to use other people’s great stuff even if they can’t afford to completely buy it.

Hello y’all!

The baby package– Buying all the items needed for a baby’s arrival can be very expensive, especially with all the other expenses that come with a new baby. On top of that all the newly purchased equipment is only used for such a brief period of time. You might be unsure about having another baby, which makes you not want to sell those baby items, so you store them instead. How about renting them as a combo? Crib, stroller, feeding chair, etc. Maybe for $30 a month? You set the price. It’s a win-win situation. You make money, save space, keep your things and also help another family to save.

Parking Spaces– If you have a reserved parking spot that happens to be near places where important events occur. Rent it! Save someone the hassle of finding a parking spot miles and miles away and make…

Hello y’all!

Here are some ideas of articles you could put up for rent on RentBillow.com

If you happen to have any other awesome idea, please send me an email  to awatson@rentbillow.com

The baby package– Buying all the items needed for a baby’s arrival can be very expensive, especially with all the other expenses that come with a new baby. Parking Spaces– If you have a reserved parking spot that happens to be near places where important events occur. Rent it! Save someone the hassle of finding a parking spot miles and miles away and make some money for it.

Costumes– Halloween is near and those costume stores get picked over really early. If your kids are like mine and require a different costume every year, I am sure you have costumes from previous years that are barely used (used only one night in fact). Rent them and save someone the hassle of a 2 hour line at the costume store.

Sports equipment. – Every time our kids decide to try a new sport, we have to buy all the expensive equipment that comes with it. My son went through baseball, soccer & football before realizing he was just not interested in sports. After spending all that money on equipment, I drew the line when he said he wanted to take up archery.

Wedding dresses.- Of course for us girls, a wedding dress is one of the most special things in a wedding. But if you prefer a kick ass honeymoon, or if you are on a budget, the dress might not be such a priority after all. We can take advantage of those girls who decided their dress was indeed more important than a fancy shmancy wedding or an awesome honeymoon. We can embrace their good taste in designer dresses, and their lack of budget restriction.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this edition of S#IT YOU CAN RENT.

RentBillow-s#it you CAN’T rent! Rev. 2 (Which means I can add more stuff as soon as I remember, and change it to Rev.3)

termsphoto

One of my top priorities when I decided to make a website for my business, was the terms and conditions. I know that most people are like me and accept them immediately without reading them. I think is because for some reason we trust the people behind the websites. We trust that they don’t want to screw us over, and if they do we can find a way to deal with it. I believe that, because when I made my terms I made them thinking in protecting my customers.

Anyway, one very important part of these terms is stuff you can’t rent at http://www.RentBillow.com. It’s OK if you don’t read the short and concise 19 pages of T&C I dearly prepared for you, as long as you read this part…

Some of the stuff you shouldn’t put up for rent:

People. – Can’t rent people. 4 people I know immediately asked if they could rent a boyfriend. Bless their heart, but no. Not on this website. (The revision was here, another woman asked for a boyfriend rental)

Pets. – Same reasons mentioned above. Don’t be weird.

Underwear. – One word. Eww.

False documents. – I hope I am not giving you ideas. But this is a nay-nay.

Any kind of firearms/ammo/etc. – Don’t even Steven.

Drugs and medical accessories. – Seriously? No way Jose.

Surveillance devices. – No spying, hijacking, etc. Just keep checking his/her Facebook 55 times a day as usual.

Stolen stuff. – So not only do you steal it, but you want to make more profit by renting it? Shame on you!

Dangerous & Illegal possessions. – Do I really need to explain why this is forbidden?

Pirated goods. – One word. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Explosives or anything related (even fireworks). – NO!

Pornography. – We shall all keep it in our pants. Shall we? Yes, we shall.

Anything that your common sense tells you might not be a good idea, don’t put it up for rent. If you are in doubt, email us at info@rentbillow.com

My First relay-The training of my dreams

I was probably drunk when I signed up for a relay of a half marathon. Everyone that knows me can tell I won’t run even if my life depended on it. Anyway, call it peer pressure I decided to give it a try. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but my husband had an orgasmic emotion when I told him about this. He immediately drafted a detailed training plan in a fancy schmancy excel spreadsheet for us to start right away. Everything was planned now. I started with my favorite thing to do. Shopping. I never ran before so obviously I needed good tennis shoes. I needed a running jacket and I found an awesome one in my favorite color, orange. Unfortunately it was not on sale, but who cares, I really really needed it!! After getting pants, socks, iPod holder, water bottle, tons of iTunes songs & a headband. I was ready to Rock & Roll. (No, literally that was the name of the half-marathon).

My first training day was supposed to be 2 miles mostly jogging. I mostly walked & mostly complained. Long story short, this was my first and only training day.

You know how they say there’s nothing more comfortable than sleeping while someone gets ready for work? Well try that but when someone is getting ready for a marathon. Every day for a month I will comfortably sleep while my husband trained to run in the same marathon. Well somehow my subconscious was pressured by the time I had left before the big date. Every night I would dream I was running, so every morning I would tell my husband how tired I was for running all night in my dreams and all the training I was getting done in my dreams as well. He would just do a forced laugh and that “I will tell you “I told you to prepare” face.

The day was finally here. Technically I trained for like 15 days, that if you count dreams. In reality I trained a total of one morning. But that was not going to stop me. I was willing to do my best impression of Forest Gump, even if that would take me a whole day walking.

Right before leaving, my mother had the brilliant idea of telling me: “Oh don’t worry if you don’t make it. Just sit on the sidewalk and call me so I can pick you up”. OH NO You didn’t just say that!! IT’S ON beotch. (I finished college just because she said I wouldn’t! There is nothing I love more than prove her wrong). (Mom: If you are reading this just remember that I love you anyways.)

Long story short I started running non-stop and made a timing of 6 miles in 57 minutes. I finished even before my husband made it to the finish line to see my great ending.

Pfff amateurs…

S#IT YOU CAN RENT! Rev.1

Finally! RentBillow is live. Now it’s time to put our belongings to work for us, and make them collect money instead of dust.

Here are some ideas:

Treadmills. – I am a woman. When I decide to start doing exercise I always end up buying all the equipment needed. 2 days later I am using the treadmill to hang clothes in it.

Lawnmowers. – Maybe you just need it occasionally. (Maybe you can even help your teenaged kid start a lawn mowing services).

TV’s. – I remember people buying TV’s and returning them to the store after the superbowl. (So wrong!) Now you can rent them. Guilt free.

Barbie houses. – I learned this the hard way. I even looked for the divorced Barbie in hopes it would come with Ken’s house, boat and car. No luck and $200 later that child played with it for 30 minutes. I would have been willing to pay $20dlls. To make sure she would really like it. (I will be putting it up for rent).

Antiques. – These can work as photography props or for open house decoration.

Game consoles/Toys in general. – Your kids are pretty positive they want the most expensive toy, but do they really? Test it before you make the expense. Maybe they are videogame challenged like me.

Pool cleaners. – We went through a complete investigation on which would be better for us. Those things are expensive. I wish I could have tried 2-3 before we committed to the $1,000. (Now I won’t even get to see my husband cleaning it shirtless).

Baby equipment. – Maybe your family is coming to town. Help them make their stay easier by renting a baby car seat, feeding chair, etc. (You will sure enjoy the visit more, they will as well).

Sewing machine. – Maybe you just want to save a little by fixing those pants that are feeling lose (after all, you did use that treadmill and it shows). Keeping a sewing machine might not be something you want or need after the job is done.

Cameras. – There are just so many. You want to make sure you have the best camera for the type of pictures you love to take. (If you just take pictures of food, stay with Instagram. I love to see those delicious dishes while I eat my ramen noodles).

Crates. – My bunny decided to leave us the day I allowed him to play in the backyard. I am still keeping the crate because I never know when I will feel again like getting a cuddly pet or a snake, who knows? So I am not selling it, but I can rent it until I get those urges again.

Party equipment. – I think this is pretty self-explanatory. Don’t forget to send me the invitation I will make sure to bring a gift you can put up for rent later.

Designer items. – Well aren’t we show-offs? You might also be broke (like me) and there is no shame in that. Renting is within our reach.

Furniture. – You might be in town for just a month, but I personally don’t like to eat on the floor (This is just my opinion). Those college years are gone, thankfully!

That’s all for today. Stay tuned.
